400 to 470 Jetting

I remember reading somewhere on this site that the FE400 benefits or runs better with 470 jetting.

If so would I be right in saying that the difference from the 400 to 470 is DR266 NJ, K35 needle and 30 throttle (some machining required, 1mm of the bottom of the throttle slide)?

Cheers

that's a ma boy!

my figures.

i never did finish jetting it. if you ever get serious about jetting it i'll give you a few tests that i was at. i just kept looking at the keihin on my bench and knew all along that that was what i wanted on the bike.

also, if we can we need coronaberg to show us a photo of the back of one of his carb slides. it has a square hole missing out of it. i've heard of this mod before only i'd heard it's a 'slit'.

first started hearing about it in the late eighties on mikuni's.

believe me it's easier to take a mm off the bottom of the slide than to buy a new one because they can all have different centres for the springs.

my final settings were;
200MJ
K35 on c1
DR266 ET
3.25mm slide cutaway and NOT 3mm
38 and 40PJ
PS = 1 turn
choke jet = 45 (possibly 40 in the summer so split them?)

50 tests

Cheers Taffy I new you'd come through... :D

I'll have a play over the next few weeks and let you know how things go.

I'm sure I've seen that slide cutaway mod somewhere before, it'll be interesting to see some pics of the inside of Mr coronaberg's carburettor.
