Hello everybody, well i am french so excuse me for my "english"

I have a FEE model of 2002 and i would have to know the differents points to control, some things to correct from the point of view mechanical.

And so i would have to understand how control the tolerance of the valves (i don't know if it's the good word to said this)

So i hope have some answers, and excuse me for my spoken

ps: if you have some drawings or pictures for control valves, i am taking :D

lefrog

u just ain't special no more!!! :D :D

zaveyron

as nick says, try downloading that documnet you'll find it really helps.

the hyperlink is always at the base of my posts (see below).

oh and welcome my friend and enjoy your stay. any questions just shout!

regards

Taffy

As far as adjusting the valves, which is the most important task to keep your berg starting easy, do a search for the valve adjustment guide. I think the post is by logjump and it explains how to use the 1/8 turn method. That is by far the easy way and has worked well for everyone I know who has used that method. If you are having trouble starting try the hard start guide. Change the oil and filter often , 10 hrs or so. Any other questions don't be shy to ask. If it has been asked a lot before the guys will point you to the posts .
Don't worry about your language skills as you speak and write english far better than I do french. We americans think all you foreigners should speak american and we cant understand Taffy half the time. Damn Canadians think they speak english but all we understand is EH Huh
Kind of like when we are in France and every one says the don't understand English but as you walk away you hear them talk about you in english. :D You also have a fellow froggy here. Lefrog.
Enjoy the group and your bike.

Well, thank you for your help (documents and the explanations); and your acceuil (truth word?)

Now i just have to translate all the procedure for the valves adjustment, the document who i have download is very complete !

And a last question : who have tray the system "powernow"

See here for more details : http://wershop.hypermart.net/intro/index.htm

Like we said in france " Au plaisir"

Ps: yes i know "Le Frog" i meet him in another site, french forum.

Has Lineaweaver ever dynotested the difference?

Hi LeFrog,
Not per say, however, I have in the past wasted time and money proving such items to be a farce to those whom tout their spectacular rewards.

Anything put in the middle of a venturi is by all accounts a "Choke".

From Websters:
Choke: To reduce the air intake of (a carburetor), thereby enriching the fuel mixture.

Sincerely,
Dale

powernow is all hype so is the P-38 accelerator pump screw. ask here before buying. we have a good idea of all the bull!

Taffy

I thought it to be a farce as well because no professional endorces these products. It it was that good then Reed and RC would have them on their thumpers every Saturday or Sunday, same thing with Salminen, VDB and their cliques.

It's like that "Vortex" they sold on TV. The guys on Car Talk (that's on public radio, the foreigners won't know it) ripped the thing apart during an entire show.

Since we are on the subject, what about the new Boyesen Quickshot gizmo?

Hi Husabutt,
Yet another means of limiting pump shot on a carburetor which truly requires no pump shot whatsoever when it is properly tuned.

Best Regards,
Dale

Dale:

I think it is supposed to work by increasing the pump reservoir cavity thereby insuring it gets a mighty big squirt?

From what I gather the pump rate is reduced and the duration increased. If in fact the device simply dumps more fuel I will have lost all respect for Eyvind Boyesen. :)

Apparently the size of the accelerator pump cavity is not increased however the design of the cover allows for greater filling and instant fuel delivery

Official info:

Stock accelerator pumps permit only 60-70% fuel charge in the pump chamber causing fuel delivery to be delayed.
The Boyesen quickshot cover completely fills the pump chamber with fuel, and provides instant fuel delivery!

While everyone on Thumper Talk is trying to do the "Taffy Mod" which limits the amount of accelerator pump travel or plunge and Dale suggests complete removal of the menacing pump, Boyesen says Filler Up.
I know who's advice I will take on this issue.

The answer is ......................................................
I will be taking Dales advice without reservation or second thought.............Taffy's too although I may try to ruffle his feathers sometimes just for fun :)
