for those of you with 2001 to 2003 bikes that are anything but a 400 (and some 501s but not all) you have 37mm inlets and they tulip badly. the present RRP on these in the UK is £92 EACH including VAT.
i now have a supply of lightweight alloy steel race valves that have a waisted stem for higher flow and the minimum seat width of 1.25mm compared to the OEMs 3mm again for higher flow.
more flow, less weight and the good news is the price: just £45 each. half the price of new and they won't tulip either due to the seat width.
they match the 32mm oversize exhaust valves i have for tuning the head on these models.
they can be ordered as 38mm if required. ans also as 36mm for the later 35/30 heads. i would think that a 36mm inlet in the 650 was a certain winner!
