350 FE 2013 - to buy or not to buy, that is the question..

so, in this crazy world we live in where one of the best engine designs gets abandoned and the bike we all love gets adopted and has to change its name, would it be wise to buy a 2013 350 FE?

Obviously a great bike with much more to offer than the KTM but the orange bike will still be a KTM next year and will be fully supported. Now, we know the blue version will be supported for longer than we will need, but when we want to sell it will buyers be concerned and put off??

And because of that and the feeling that the company and brand has gone will second hand prices collapse?

Would be interested in thoughts as starting to wonder where my next bike will come from. Fortunate to have a 390 so could stay with that but at some stage well fancy a change and 350 sounds excellent. would hate it to be orange though....

I can't see a 'collapse' in value?

parts are readily available for the older models.

I understand your thoughts, The burg domination was coming on strong here in S.A the last 4 years have opened our eyes to the blue brand and people where buying, now I have a 12 390 and was wondering the same thing in terms of re-sell one day, it took a while for people this side to look the other way than KTM and Yammi as the main enduro competitors and now that production has stopped hoping that this becomes a collectors rather than a "don't touch"
I will be keeping my bike for many years to come it's just that good, all the friends that jump on it from their 2 strokes can't get over the low down grunt and light feel, might just keep her forever and see what Husky brings to the party as I came off 2 of them before the burg, 4T 's but in the tight stuff was a real pig compared.
I think the 12 will still be more desirable than the 13 as this was still a burg. Cool have a awesome rest of the week. :bounce:

I'm putting the question out there to see what people think, however, I have my own views currently.

As Taffy said, I can't see a collapse in value either - the 390 is amazing and I think will remain a sort after classic. It rides so well and it is reliable - the two most important things. In addition, it shares so many parts with KTM that there will be no issues on future repairs, etc.

I think the new 2013's (and the 350 I am interested in) are so much KTM that there will be less concerns too - essential a KTM Six Days for less money. Full spares and support back up.

So, I am probably going to get a Husaberg 350 as reviews are so good. Did think about the KTM 350 but the forks are the decider - being the best on the Husaberg unless a cheap Six Days came along................

Cheers
