ok the 24v system flat out works.i have converted my 02 650 to 24v.its the way to go starts up so easy cold or hot.i know.the starter does not like 24v.it did not like 12v either never did start.now it starts up just fine.i have started it well over 100 times. ok maybe 80 times. anyway i have tested it alot and it works. i took the starter apart to check it no problems.on 12v trying to start the bike i fried a starter.i also can charge either batt with the flip of a switch.im sold! should have done this with my other bergs.made my own batt box for under the seat turned out real nice. the cost for me was about a $100. now all i need to do is buy a sparks stator.i would not be posting this if this setup was not tested over and over again.the starter is out of a cbr 600 honda i had to alter the mount abit. real easy to do.heck maybe i should make a kit.the best part is i dont have to kick the bike as much as i use to.or pray i did not stall it on flat ground. im 6ft and i cant start it with out leaning the bike on something.life is so much better now.if any one would like a diagram of the wiring i did to make this work you can email me at [email protected] and now the hard part. to figure out how my wifes camera works. so i can down load pics.one word of caution! be careful with 24v you can weld with this voltage. make sure of your wiring.
