Hi Guy's

Does anyone out there in UHE land have any experience on the 2014 models in particular the FE 501

Do you own one, have you ridden one, just looking for a run down on what they are like :?: :?:

Steve

I have a 350 FE 2014 and love it!

Had a 390 before this and was concerned I would be disappointed by power delivery but not a chance. Fantastic to ride on all counts - power, weight, suspension, everything is great!

Basically it is a KTM six days with extras such as better sub frame, etc.

Have noticed the Husaberg stock is now being sold at big reductions in UK to clear way for huskys, so grab a bargain.

....but not the 350s I believe: they are all gone!

all the shops have been repainted blue and white instead of yellow and white. also all the paperwork now says Husky and not Husaberg. it is as though the brand has disappeared off the face of the earth!

regards

Taffy

Hi Kipper,

Thanks for your reply.... so in your opinion would you say that there is a significant improvement in the new model 350 over the 390 :?:

Steve

When I was selling my 390 to get the 350 I questioned my sanity - how dumb to get rid of one of the best bikes that husaberg had ever produced!

Then I saw a comment by someone who had already done this and had no regrets.

Then I got my 350 - and I couldn't be happier. I love it.

As soon as you get on the 350 it feels much lighter to ride, and pick up! It climbs hills even better than the 390, which was a major surprise considering the deep down grunt of the 390. It feels a lot thinner at the tank so more comfortable to grip and control. Suspension is excellent - there is a lot of comment regarding the 4CS forks but I find them brilliant. I suspect that they are fine for all but the top end amateur enduro racer - I just trail ride.

So, I think it us actually a step forward as far as riding. Obviously, the end of the brand though.......

I believe the husky is equal or slightly better due to the rear linkage suspension which in reviews has been well received.

I'd definitely say that if you get one (Husky or Husaberg) you will be very happy! And deals are available to move the last of the Husaberg stock!!

I race a 2014 Husaberg FE 501 and love it. Nimble, fast and TONS of torque! Seems about the same (but 8 pounds lighter) than the 2010 FE 570 I raced for 2 years! Mine has a Rekluse clutch and some other mods on it but the bike has been awesome so far.

2014 501

I have a 2014 501,
awesome bike, seemed to be a bit touchy off the bottom end for me, I gear it up to 15/48 and it climbs on torque up rocky hill better for me without wheel spin and fatigue so much for the type of terrain I ride on.
It is pretty sure footed in the suspension , turns very well , does more than what I require. In the tight stuff , I find it is really at home , feels like a 250 4t bike. Changes direction very easily. The more you push it the more it feels at home and handles.
I find I use way less energy riding, I get sucked in to riding a bit to quick because the bike seems to just do it with ease. I have come off an older 550 and clocked 6-700hrs on those ,and have ridden the 570 a bit also. I am a reasonably experienced rider with bigger capacity bikes, so my opinion may not be the same an a less experienced rider.
Been a bit spoilt not having an air box for 14 yrs , so I find the air filter needs cleaning more regularly compared to my 550 and it took a few goes before I worked out how to get the side cover on properly. I threw out the big orange plastic thing that come with the bike, later learned it was a cover for the air box intake so you could wash out the air box,ha ha.
Many things have changed on the newer bikes that you are not even aware of. One of the funny things I noticed was the shape of the front guard, it really works well , not much mud and debris flys up, can almost ride without goggles.
I have clocked 65hr on it and all is good.

Gday Enginenumber 65hrs is not a bad effort

when are you coming down for another ride?

ive got 2 new two hour loops your bike would love

14 FE350. It is a KTM all the way and is no relation to any Husa I have ever rode. KTM yellow and blue all the way. I have noticed a difference in handling from the KTM as this was my mainstay for allot of years but the I am positive it is due to the 4CS as this is my first look at the 4CS. Last year when I purchased, the dealer was to move all the Husa's out as the floor was to only have Husky. They wanted all products relating to Husa gone for the role out of the new Huskys. This was mandated by KTM, Thus the reason they were being blown out. I paid 7k CDN for mine equal to about 5700 USD. I only purchased as it was cheap and is a great bike as I had a new bike the prior year. Power is excellent stock, Handling is per the usual KTM except the 4CS in what I am getting used to now. Rear PDS is good and does what the PDS is prone to do, plush and great in the smooth rides, runs the whoops well but doesn't take the hits the linkage does. However it is nice as it comes out so easy. Motor as we know is KTM and it does run as one. Temp is great as factory fan, so no overheating in the slower single track or heavy hills. I am thrilled as it is a great endure bike and does live up to what is stated in all the shootouts and magazine first looks. Lots of bang for the buck and seeing that the Husky that was sitting beside it was 10,500CDN it was the machine to have. Lots of little stuff done to enhance the machine and make it mine as per the price I paid it allowed me to stay in budget and add 4k into it immediately , so it really works for me. I do like the fact it is the last year of the Husa branding and I will always keep this bike even when time to purchase new one. Will make a nice ornament when time to restore and one day placed in my shop hall of fame. Do recommend one if you can get your hands on one. Saw one for sale about six months back but am sure it is long gone now.

Hey there Bushie,
funny 3 days ago, was discussing a ride down your way again. Out near the Balladonia road house and go east along the coast some.
Our plan fell through last year due to work and so forth.
I have a vision of riding to the top of that 110m high sand dune looking out over the coast down there, would be nice.

Guys decided against it due to time driving down that way and getting back, work and so forth. I still have a view maybe November or after Christmas sometime and spend a couple of weeks looking about. My friend Nic on the drz has not stopped talking about his first adventure ride down there !Especially after the excess rain and riding through 2 foot of water for up to 400 metres at a time, no idea why none of the bike stopped.. pretty funny.

Must put some heavier springs in the bike also , other good thing about new bike , FI , no fuel smell or dripping in the back of my van when transporting it. Also no cleaning out carbi or touching mixture come summer or winter. Did take some getting used to with the FI , it just reacts slightly different to carbi , cant describe really what it was, but soon got used to it.

65 hr was done by nov almost last yr.

How's that trench digger, bike of yours going?
You have got to get some new quality HD footage of that thing launching and ripping up the track and post it on this site. That will create a few laughs.

Well must go.
