Hi

I just bought a 2014 TE 300. I noticed that it doesn’t have a map switch- was this a standard feature or not?

Also I read somewhere that the vforce reeds were standard but my bike doesn’t have the vforce label on the reeds block.

Please could someone confirm whether the above were definately a standard fit?

Many Thanks

They switched to boyesen reeds in ‘14 and didn’t come with the switch, though it’s super easy to install.

Great, thanks very much for the quick response :)

Does anyone have a link to a thread showing how to install connect a map switch?

Hi, I believe it is a cast vertex piston.

If you remove the fuel tank, there is a male and female bullet lug stuck together, in this position it is standard map, when they are saparated it is in low map. This is where the map switch plugs in.

You can find ktm or husqvarna manuals at the respective manufacturers websites, either of the ktm or husq manuals will have the exact location of the connector for the map switch.

What you are looking for looks something like this below

Hi all, couple of more questions on the 2014 TE300

What engine and transmission oil are you using? The most obvious is choice is the reccomended Motorex Cross Power 2t and Top Speed 4t (for the clutch and transmission) but is there anything better I should use? I have been running Castrol Power 1 Racing for years in my other 2t dirt bike with no issues at all. I wonder whether I should stick to this or switch to Motorex as reccomended.

Also the reccomended mix is 1:60 but I know that most are mixing 1:50 for some extra protection.. any advice on this?

Finally does anyone know where can buy some frame touch up paint? From what I found the paint should be RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey but my frame appears to have some metalic finish so I am not sure I am loking for the correct paint code...

Many Thanks
