Hello all, new to the forums. Looking at possibly picking up a fairly lightly used 2014 FE350, 50hrs on the bike Looks to be in mint condition.

Are there anythings to be wary of for this model year.

No kick starter, but do the electric starters work really well, so no real concern?

Engine issues ???

thx
J

Well it’s pretty much a blue KTM with a plastic sub frame and some different plastic, but the answers to all of your questions are shared with pds KTM model. Solid bikes!!!

I have a 2013 fe350 with 215 hrs on it and it is awesome. Love it. Nothing to speak of as far as problems that aren't just normal dirt bike problems. Get it, you won't regret it. Engine is pretty excellent imho. But and finish are top notch. Frame literally says KTM on the sticker. It is a KTM through and through.

Also IMO back up kickstarters aren’t as appealing on FI bikes as carbed models. If it won’t start on the button it’s most likely a fuel or electrical problem that won’t let you light it up with a kicker either. I know a carbed bike with just a dead battery will start right up with a backup kicker, I’m not so sure about FI. (Maybe with a capacitor?)

Good feedback, I'm happy about that as I went ahead and bought the bike, sight unseen. My cousin went and looked at it and gave the thumbs up. He's bringing back to me this week.

Can't wait to try it out.

Hey,
nice bike,
I have the 500 in the same model.
Kick starter, you definately wont need it. If it does not start within a couple of revolutions with the FI , there is something wrong with it.

Dont worry about no kick starter , I run the carbi model bikes for 10 odd years and got rid of the kicker starter straight away , no issues, just got in the way when turning on the choke!

A little trick I use is just touch the starter button once quickly , this will engage the fuel pump and get up full pressure , then just touch the starter button , it will fire up staraight away.

All the best with your riding.

Plenty of info on the bikes and people running the same bike here, so lots of help and support if required.

Great feedback on the bike.
Despite the crappy weather we are having here I am going to pick it up tomorrow, get it insured and go for a ride.

The previous owner, original owner of the bike and really looks to have set it up nice. Got all the protective bits on the bike, updated clutch lever and maybe the brake as well. Light kit was added onto the bike.

I need to add a horn and mirrors for street riding. Have ordered them, plus a keyed ignition kit from Sicass Racing. Don't really want to have a bike that I can't at least make it a little hard for someone to want to take. That and a rotor lock will help a little. For the most part the bike will only be used for trail riding, either trailer-ed or ridden to site, then parked in my shop. The bike will not spend much time outside sitting around on a street.

Congrats on bike I put a spiral cable around my right bark buster when stopping to eat somewhere I put it through the mouth peace on my helmet , sleeve on my riding jacket though the front wheel and around a pole if there is one there.I figure it will be easier for them to steal one of my friends bikes.

Question on the Husaberg model comparison to the KTMs. Is the FE series straight up to the XCF-W or the EXC-F?

What, if any, maintenance type parts might be different? Fork and shock might be different from model year KTM, but what about air and oil filter? Is there a different airbox on the Husaberg because of the rear sub-frame and therefore a different air-filter.

Oil filter should be the same as KTM EXC-F or XCF-W? Also, I noticed in the KTM manual the oil spec is 10W50 or 10W60, my current Husqvarna calls for 5W20. What are folks running for oil?

When looking on some moto stores parts that list for the KTM models are filtered out for the Husaberg.

Cheers

LOL MY old bike, Use the 10W60 and the filters are the same as well the air filter is all KTM. The KTM XCF and EXC are the same parts for super moto stuff. fork and shocks are WP 4cs and all in great shape and service. You should require nothing for a long time. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call or send me a pm on this site.

Have you insured it? I am on my way to cancel insurance today :)

Sorry i didn't read fork oil will be 5wt and the 4cs is a tad different than anything I am sure you have done. Remember not to mix them up as one is rebound and one compression. And I have added the blue adjusters they are normaly red on one side and white on the other. The seals are in great shape and shouldn't require service.
Good info from this site Fk Standard Rebuild WP 4CS

Get out and ride it, you will love it lol :)

Good talking with you. Forgot to mention. Bike is already insured. Will check out current fork settings. As I had mentioned, I did add a few clicks of compression damping to the fork. The one short ride I was able to get out on, the bike felt nice. Good easy power down low, tight handling, going to see if I can set the bumper stops a little tighter to allow for tighter turning on lock to lock (just about send me off the trail - started way wide on a turn expecting to be able to turn tight into the corner)

Freaking snow. Hoping for some warmer weather to clear out the trails so I can ride.
