10 pt rack

Your gonna have to use a little yankee ingenuity and build one yourself. Don't think there's anything out there...

Hi there guys,
been trying to nut that one out myself, a rack.
Easy alternative is to grab an old pair of jeans/pants , tie knots in the bottom of the legs, fill the legs/pants up with gear , then lay the filled pants/jeans over the back guard, with a leg each side, tie off the bottom of the legs around the knots to the frame. Run rope or belt through the waist section and tighten them up. Works a treat , cheap alternative.

Might pay to tape up the plastics so they don't get scratched as well(mud chaffs and scratches).
Want more storage, get a larger pair of pants!

I have seen earlier KTMs with the bolted on alloy sub frames , with racks attached and over loaded with gear for extended periods, shear the top bolts out of the sub frame.

I did build a rack out of chrome moly tube once for an earlier model 04, that bolted down at the foot pegs and was braced off near the tank/seat frame area on the bike. It was also side bolted or braced by bolting it to the rear guard area to the fixed sub frame, and would take a lot of gear and equipment without weight on the rear sub frame.

Trouble with the 2014 plastic sub frame, it is designed to flex, so trying to brace it off to stop the horizontal or sideways movement and flexing may prove to be an issue.

I may have a go at building a rack in a couple of months out of tube again. I can post a couple of pics of the old rack, may give a couple of ideas on design where to start if you like?

wolfman bags, have straps up top on seat. This was my resolution to the rack :) Hold everything and can tie down other stuff on top. Does not impede riding.

Not a rack, but lots of guys I ride with run the Giant Loop bags with much success:

Now that I look at it, it sounds like an upscale version of the "pants" bag...

Probably no good for mounting a jerry can or a chainsaw to, but great for tools, maps, sammiches, etc.
