Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get the Gas Cap off on my new (2011) FS 570 and it just wont move, im pressing the release button but it wont turn.. has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Oh yes. It's rather common. While pressing on the release tab, also press on the vent nipple. Put a good amount of weight on it and TURN HARD.

Once off, there are a couple of things you can do. I've had good success with putting a little silicone grease (like you'd use in brake applications) on the lip of the fuel tank. Others will tell you to round the locking tabs, and still others will tell you to cut them off.

I put silicone spray grease on the cap and it's fine for few months. When it starts to get a bit tight again spray some more.

Having had a similar situation and following the advice from a similar thread here I just opened up the gas cap and removed the 3-pronged locking thingy and put it back together.
There's more than enough tension/resistance to hold the cap on without it and it's much easier to remove now. :D
