2011 FE570 320 rotor caliper bracket, no guide plate?

Hi all,

purchased a support from motostrano for my 2011 FE570 so i can run a 320 rotor up front for street

got the new support mounted all up with the brembo caliper. i tried swapping out the oem guide plate (second shot) to the new support and it seems to push the pads too far down to get the retaining pin through...if i really force it i can probably get the pin in, but they won't slide.

I then tried mounting it up without the guide plate, like in the first shot (black), and everything lines up perfect.

is it dangerous to run it like this with out the guide plate? is there a risk that the pads will slip through at the top?

much appreciate any insight

thanks for the post.

I don't see how the rotor diameter would have any effect on the ability of the brake pads to fit into the caliper correctly though and have the retaining pin slide in right?
