I'm an owner of a really well set up 2011 570. It belonged to a good riding buddy that took very good care of it. The only thing he didn't do was change the OEM can. I've read a few things on the exhaust on these and it's seem like its common practice to gut the cans. I'm in the US and my can has Husaberg stamped on the outside and it's got KTM forest approved spark arrester on the inside ( wheel side ). It also has removable bolts not rivets holding the sleeve to base and end cap. I read a few different things and before I do anything to this exhaust, I will talk to the PO and make sure nothing has been done already. Is gutting the can the right thing to do? Could it have been gutted seeing as it's not riveted? Any feed back welcome! Also, will it need to be remapped? It's got the latest and greatest mapping from dealer.

Congratulations!! On at least some sloper bikes, the stock exhaust has torx head bolts - which is a nice feature of these bikes.

Thank you! I really love this bike! I was going over some of the very detailed notes from the PO and see that he did get the good map installed. I'm wondering if it would be better to gut the OEM can, but I've read that some bikes came with a Ktm freer flowing can. If mine has that, should I leave it alone? Or should I get the FMF Q4? If I do any of this, will the mapping still be ok? This bikes got enough power for the woods were I ride, so all I want it for is the possible cooler running temp.

I have most of my info from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14322&start=15

I just bought mine so I haven't looked into it properly. If you have the KTM-style muffler, then it seems to be worth uncorking it a little. Cooler temperature and maye a little bit crisper throttle response. (Plus some totally unneccessary extra power :) )
