mine is VERY quiet, barely hear any noise at all

I went to my Dealer(Bairnsdale KTM) today to see what was going on. They were preparing a FE390 and a FX450 - both very nice bikes - but not what I wanted to see. We discussed the possibility of getting a FE390 now or waiting for two (very long) months for the FE450.

I must admit that I am in bit of a quandary. The FE390 sounds like a great bike and one I'm sure I would enjoy immensely but I have been lusting over the FE450 for more than a year now. I am also sure I will enjoy riding this immensely as well.

Must do a bit more thinking!!

Yep I am in the same boat. This Sunday there is an enduro in Capel where the awesome guys at Bunberry KTM are going to let me test a 390, 450 and 570 back to back on a test track that is a couple of kay long! The 450 and 570 have akropovic pipes but thats no biggy. It's a bit of a wait for the 450 and 570 so if the 390 is as good as they say they can have one ready mid next week. I have a funny feeling that I may tire of the power though coming of a worked 300EXC 2 stroke so that is why I was looking at the 570
 
The FE 570 is $13995 (US$12092.58) and then you need to add on road costs so about $14600 (US$12615.81). I think that is a lot dearer than you guys can get them so thank your lucky stars!! Lol!

Exhaust is very quiet, but has a nice tone. Mine pops on decel sometimes at certain partial throttle settings, but not too badly.

The intake is noisy, but that is not a problem for most people.
