Hi everyone,
I just got some time to give some feedback on the Husaberg dealer show last week in Pala, CA. and man was it a great time! on Monday the 'Berg dealers met with factory reps to review the new models and get some stats on overall brand performance. This past year Husaberg retail sales were the highest in the 20 year history of the company which makes sense, but one thing that was very interesting to me was that only 5% of Husaberg buyers were previously KTM owners. What did you own before you bought your Husaberg?
As for brand loyalty, if you owned a Husaberg in the past you have purchased another one 95% of the time. That is INCREDIBLE and really shows 1. how much everyone loves riding these bikes and 2. the quality of the product is a real satisfier.
So after the meeting stuff on Monday, we got to ride all the Husaberg's and KTM's at Pala Raceway on Tuesday. That was the best dealer event I have ever attended. There must have been 30+ bikes to demo on the motocross track, another 20 on the bitchin' off-road loop they had set up and another 10 bikes on the 45 minute street loop that went through some great single lane roads. If you want to have a fun riding weekend, whether on road or off the Pala area has it all including a nice hotel, pool, and casino. Here is what I rode: KTM XC150, SX150, EXC530, SX250, SX250F, SX350F, SX450F, 690 Adventure, and Husaberg FX450, FE390, FE450, and FE570 Street Legal and FS570 Supermoto. During the course of the day I overheard more than a few riders (KTM dealers and staff) speaking very highly of their test ride experience on the 'Bergs and since they ride some of the best off-road bikes in the world, I took that as very complimentary. For me, as a smaller rider, the 2011 Husabergs were hands down more manageable and rider friendly especially noticable on the FE570 vs. the EXC530 and 690 adventure on the off-road section and street loop.
Adding to the event was a freestyle demo, a pit bike race, a factory racer and dealer team race, killer BBQ, and bench racing with Mike Lafferty and Nathan Woods. A weekend that will go down in history as one of my best. Thanks Husaberg!
