Hi everyone,

I just got some time to give some feedback on the Husaberg dealer show last week in Pala, CA. and man was it a great time! on Monday the 'Berg dealers met with factory reps to review the new models and get some stats on overall brand performance. This past year Husaberg retail sales were the highest in the 20 year history of the company which makes sense, but one thing that was very interesting to me was that only 5% of Husaberg buyers were previously KTM owners. What did you own before you bought your Husaberg?

As for brand loyalty, if you owned a Husaberg in the past you have purchased another one 95% of the time. That is INCREDIBLE and really shows 1. how much everyone loves riding these bikes and 2. the quality of the product is a real satisfier.

So after the meeting stuff on Monday, we got to ride all the Husaberg's and KTM's at Pala Raceway on Tuesday. That was the best dealer event I have ever attended. There must have been 30+ bikes to demo on the motocross track, another 20 on the bitchin' off-road loop they had set up and another 10 bikes on the 45 minute street loop that went through some great single lane roads. If you want to have a fun riding weekend, whether on road or off the Pala area has it all including a nice hotel, pool, and casino. Here is what I rode: KTM XC150, SX150, EXC530, SX250, SX250F, SX350F, SX450F, 690 Adventure, and Husaberg FX450, FE390, FE450, and FE570 Street Legal and FS570 Supermoto. During the course of the day I overheard more than a few riders (KTM dealers and staff) speaking very highly of their test ride experience on the 'Bergs and since they ride some of the best off-road bikes in the world, I took that as very complimentary. For me, as a smaller rider, the 2011 Husabergs were hands down more manageable and rider friendly especially noticable on the FE570 vs. the EXC530 and 690 adventure on the off-road section and street loop.

Adding to the event was a freestyle demo, a pit bike race, a factory racer and dealer team race, killer BBQ, and bench racing with Mike Lafferty and Nathan Woods. A weekend that will go down in history as one of my best. Thanks Husaberg!

What a great write-up! Would love to have been there for the bench-racing, let alone the time on 2 wheels. I think the tie-up with KTM is actually good for the Husaberg brand (and for KTM as shareholder).

How did Iget onto a Husaberg? For me, I just could not bring myself to buy an orange bike (psychologically), so after much delay and pontification, I finally went into the KTM shop, and there to my delight, I found the blue bike  . It took me about 30 seconds to say "sold"! I used to joke with my KTM buddies that I'd buy one if they made it with blue plastic, so there.

The only mistake I made was having the wife tag along to watch me make the purchase - she thought it a very compulsive buy, and didn't enjoy seeing ten grand fly out of my wallet so easily! But the truth is I've been dreaming about a new scoot for a long time, so once I saw what i wanted, it was an easy decision for me.

Never looked back since then!

Any updates on Husaberg accessories? Stuff like the things they have on their online catalog that have never been available to purchase like coats and stuff.

The 2011 bike pricing and bike accessories/rider gear will be introduced during July. This year the Dealer Show was a little early and new products where not quite ready for Husaberg to display the entire product lines and have support materials (brochures, displays, etc.) to feature them in a quality and quantity way. There is definately a strong desire within the company to offer a more expansive product line of bike and rider accessories now and into the future. Stay tuned, it should be exciting and worth the wait.

Sorry about the tease(?) of the KTM 690 Adventure, it was a 690 Enduro.

Thanks for the great report Paul, and for the info you gave me on the phone this week. It definitely helped me to wait for the street legal FE 570! I'm sure I won't be disappointed. :bounce3:

Are they actually going to sell the gear they advertise this year? Everything I tried to order was never available.

Was there a nice looking blue and yellow bike there that was blowing a bit of smoke out the exhaust?

We'll see Crazy Ted, they seem serious about the parts, accessory and clothing business this year. As soon as we get a catalog, we'll place orders and let you know what arrives and when. With the Euro being down, they may feel that there is a better likelyhood of US dealers having a chance to sell genuine Husaberg products, and release more to us. Just speculating though.

Can't be related, he has all his teeth.

As for the hard parts/clothing, I was ready to buy at least four different items that were never available for sale. Very frustrating.

On the smoker questions, I didn't see or hear about smokers of either variety (2-stroke or 4).
