2010 FX450-Map switch needed?

I am wanting to have my 2010 FX450 running in the most aggressive MAP setting and have considered buying the adjustable map switch to do so, but then I heard that this bike comes from the factory already in the "aggressive" setting. If this is the case, I'm assuming the switch would be a waste unless I ever wanted the softer settings? Can anyone confirm or deny this? thanks!

Im not sure which map they come with from the factory but i would think they would have the soft setting for running in purposes? When i bought my 570 new i asked the dealer to put it on the aggressive setting straight away, he told me he did. Mine has been on this setting since then and i see no need to change it for the riding i do, hence for me the switch is something i don't need.

They come from the factory set in the standard setting!!!
You need the Map Switch to select Soft or Aggressive setting.

Are you saying that the dealer couldn't have set it for me like he said he did?

Can't be 100% sure but it doesn't make any logical sense to me. Unless he has inserted a resistor in the Map Switch connector. Have you checked to see if a resistor is in the connector ?
I wouldn't trust anything a dealer told me about EFI as being factual unless he explained to me how he did it or showed me doco from the factory to back it up. I reckon EFI and computer tuning is a whole new ball game for a lot of them.

Well i tend to believe you over him from other dealings with him since! Perhaps mine has been on the standard setting all along. Maybe i will look into getting a swith after all!

I have a 2010 fx 450 and I purchased the map switch. I think it was about $50 but not sure. It took me 10 min to put it on and I tried all 3 settings and there is a difference to the power delivery. I am a fat *** 52 year old and I am not a great rider but I leave mine on the aggressive setting. I think the easier settings would be better for real muddy/slippery. But when I bought the bike in the spring of 2011 I was too eager to get out & ride so I went on a rainy day and the aggressive map setting worked fine.

So did yours come stock in the aggressive setting husaloser? If someone could confirm for sure what setting is stock that would be awesome... I see conflicting reports all over. some say it's standard stock, others say since the FX is more of a 'racy' FE that it has the aggressive setting stock. Is there any way to tell for sure by looking at something on the bike?
