Hi,

I have a 2010 FE390 and when I bought it, it had some swingarm protectors fitted. I've just taken them off and there is some dirt staining on the arms. What's the best way to clean these? I've tried soap and water but am looking for something more potent that won't damage the alloy.

Also, is it ok to remove the chain guard? I use the bike only for trial riding.. no road use at all.

Many thanks, Graham

Try some alloy wheel cleaner.

As for removing the chain guard, personally, I wouldn't. It's there for a reason.

Try some acetone on a ragif it dosnt work try a little thinners and that will work. Had the same problem

use traffic film remover and a brush or swafega and a scourer

get rid of the chain guard you don't need it.

FYI - I used WD40 and scotchbrite as I had them on hand and they worked well. When you first put it on and scrub, everything goes grey/black but that cleans off easily.

Thanks again.

Graham

for the swingarm, I use pure soda
must be left for 15 minutes and rinse with plenty of water
and it becomes like new!
