I finished about a 30K ride on open double track in about 28 degree weather and although the bike performed flawlessly when I stopped there was a distinct boiling sound that I have never heard before. There was no coolant coming out of the overflow, just a boiling sound.

After about 5 minutes it was gone.

I am suspecting that, I have never heard it before.

I've hear others complain of it. Does your bike have the heat shield blanket on the underside of the tank?

I have reflective foil, but not a blanket, I think it is time to get one.

Just as a data point - My '10 FX450 has not had a problem w/ tight trails in 95F heat. It has an FMF pipe which has been ceramic coated inside and out and Engine Ice coolant. No fan, no blanket or foil.

i own a '09 FE 570, the 1st few times I rode it when it was hot, I noticed the same "boiling " sound you speak of. It was in fact, the fuel boiling. I even had an instance where it vapor locked and would not restart. After a few minutes, it cooled down enough to restart. I did several thing to remedy the problem. The first is to remove the ball valve inside the gas cap. This will alow the tank to breathe and not build up pressure. Ceramic coated the pipe and wrapped with exhaust tape. Also put the blanket on the underside of the tank. I have not had any problems after those mods. Ride On!
