Is there a trick to adjusting the sag, without taking apart the back half of the bike? I just don't see any way to get to the collar on the spring? Thanks for the help!

You have to undo the top and lower shock bolts and remove the entire shock, then use an allen key to loosen the collar retainer and turn collar as per usual with a 'hook' spanner.

Very quick and easy once youve done it a couple of times.

THANK YOU! just crossed over from yamaha, so there's a few things i'm having to learn about this bike. but wow, i really love this bike!!!

THANKS AGAIN!!! stu

Actually, you can take the shock off, loosen the allen head bolt and then re-install the shock. Then you should be able to turn the spring and get the shock collar to turn at the same time. The only time it doesn't work well is when you get a bunch of preload on the spring. It's best if you can get the bike up on the stand. You can then twist the shock spring by hand and most times, with the allen loose on the shock collar, the collar will turn with the spring.

Good tip!

Just don't forget to remove and tighten down the shock collar! (ask me how I know ... : 8O )
Also, be careful about over-tightening the shock collar. I don't have the torque spec. in front of me -- but it's not much and some peeps have actually snapped the collar in half by over-tightening.
