Hey Guys, just bought a new to me 2010 fe 450. Had it out this last weekend and noticed it backfired quite a bit on deceleration. Checked the exhaust and I dont feel any leaks. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :eek:ccasion5:

Your in BC, Where were you riding? I do Kamloops quite a bit and the elevation will change your fuel mixture. As Goose916 said, Your more than likely lean.

Clogged injector?

Aftermarket exhaust?

Do you know what map is in it? Supposedly there's a "race map" that is a bit fatter that a dealer can flash into the ECU.

Any kind of tuning box on it?

Less likely, don't worry - Lowish fuel pump pressure?

I was riding at Vedder. I called International and Holeshot to see if they could load the comp map on my ecu and both said they cant. Do you know of anyone local that can do this? (Im in Abbotsford) Thanks

Stock Exhaust, No idea what map, but I figure its the stock lean one. Hopefully my fuel pressure is good! Any easy way of checking? Thanks

OK, You were riding Vedder, This is almost at sea level. You bike should not be lean with stock map?? To much air, is your filter oiled? Is your airbox modified? Kind of funny its lean. Is it heating up at all?

International should be able to re map your machine. I guess they have wiped there hands clean of Husa, Try GVP in the Wack, se if they can help?

I'd try cleaning the injector! Search the forum - Jon Andersson has written some very good instructions on here.

I haven't tested fuel pressure and can't comment :) But there are some posts on it around here!

I was told the stock map runs on the lean side. The filter is oiled and she runs hot if not moving quickly. No overheating problems tho. Bought it with the motor freshly rebuilt from Bill @ 5th Gear.
