Hey all,

Any ideas or commitments for the 2010 Force Ride? im guessing that its time to get planning for it.

Azza.

Yeah, definately too hot here most days, and hitting another major fire danger summer, but also time to get some ideas cracking for april - june next year.

Havent been online here for months, I checked the forum, and it doesent look like anyone has floated FR2010, so i thought id see if theres any interest out there.

I'm keen as ever. We've had two to date, one at Louee and one nearby at Wallerawang. Its a reasonably central location, and the Wang has wonderful riding and great economical accommodation at B&G Cabins. I'd be happy to go there again.

I'm happy to travel elsewhere, we need some options, and that includes volunteers to lead rides. Wildman has suggested something up his way is a possibility for example and I'm sure I can entertain down this way too. I can lead around Vic high country out of Tom Groggin, and down Bateman's Bay Mogo way and points in between. Depends whats wanted.

Suggestions, offers?

Steve

G'Day guys,
A few of the local lads have been cutting in some new single track for the next A4DE around the Sunny Corner area. By all reports it is very very good. No doubt we will do a local DSMRA ride out there and check it out. This area is right beside the Wallerawang area as well so there is so much awesome riding here. But I'm happy to go any where really.
Cheers :D

You guys could always haul across the Nullabor and enjoy 2 days on a West Coast Safari tour. In June/July time the tracks around Nannup/Blackwood Forest/Margaret River are awesome!!!

With enough planning I could attempt to make it. Although having a wife off work makes things slightly more difficult.

Being recently retired and with a 4wd ute and trailer I'm able to go pretty much anywhere, anytime, solo, or collecting others along the way. I enjoy a road trip. I seem to recall that Wildman is a mate of John Staines, aka West Coast Safaries.

Okay, well ill throw my hat into the ring, ill take a few days around KI if anyone is keen, a mate and I (those from the 08 FR will remember Kym on the spanking new KTM (Kym's Tangerine Motorcycle) 450) have cut and spliced a good trail of about 70 kms through some good hand cut single trail, and some rocks and sandy 4WD track, and it takes you to some most spectacular coastal and bush scenery, its a good 'there and back' ride at 140 kays return. see some here - http://www.youtube.com/user/awilksch#p/u/4/s1_DXP_GoDc (part 1) and here http://www.youtube.com/user/awilksch#p/u/3/PepfkWJpZH8 (part 2) and http://www.youtube.com/user/awilksch#p/u/1/edD2InFOGFo (part 3).

there is another full day ride, but it would have to be small groups, and quietest muffler restrictors are essential there, it'll be overgrown as hell since the 07 fires went thru.

on top of that there are plenty of smaller few hour rides that can be taken.

KI is an awesome holiday spot, so if the timing is right, it'd make a great opportunity for a family break for a week (-3 days riding).

It's getting cooler here in Oz, perfect riding weather.
Can we ozzies chip in to get the Taffmeister to Australia. I can, chip in,
pick him up from Mascot, feed him, house him and get him to any of these jonts:
Louee
Wallerawang
Bateman's Bay
Tom Groggin

He can have me FE570 for the Force Ride. I'll even wack an Akro on it if he wants.

Not sure about the rest of you fellas but I wouldn't mind having a schooner with him.

It will more than "A" schooner if Taffy is there (personal expierience) more than a few laughs too !

HI all,

How would Kalgoorlie WA, sound for the FORCE ride? I could easily organise a 150km+ ride each day for a week if need be and never ride the same track twice. All single trail and have a bit of every thing thrown at you.

Any takers?

Cheers

TB

Google maps is telling me Sydney to Kalgoorlie is 3,403 km – about 1 day 16 hours drive (with no stops) :?
QANTAS have cheap airfairs around $300.
I wonder what would be the best way to transport a bike to Kalgoorlie? Did anyone from WA do the NSW Louee trip last Force ride?

Biggest distance award to date is either Azza from KI or wildman from Bundy. I have yet to go to Kalgoorlie, so why not? Sounds good. I can transport 3 bikes on the trailer and a couple of passengers in my twin cab ute.

When? July/August perhaps?

Steve

Just got back from a family holiday over WA in March, theres some seriously good looking trails south-east of Bunbury towards the Permberton area.... anyone have the lowdown on this area? those massive karri forrests look awesome.

wonder what the cost would be to train with the bike over to WA?
