2010 450 to KTM 505?

Hi guys,
Apologies if this has already been covered, but I didn't see it anywhere.
I have a 2010 FE450, I really like the bike overall, and I want to keep it around for a while. I have over 8k miles on the clock, (mostly singletrack) and I'm starting to think about a rebuild on the old 70degree engine. I have a friend with a 2009 (I think) KTM 505XC-F I really like the engine on that bike, and I got to thinking that I could maybe put the 505 cylinder on the 450. Does anyone know if this will work or not? or if the cams or anything else are different?
Thanks!

FWIW the 505 and 570 have the same bore diam so the 570 barrel is the easiest way to get it done at 100mm you will need to sort out if the piston comes up high enough with custom piston or rod or you can go 570 crank may be easier and then 610 is possible with a bigger overbore piston in the 570 barrel with 570 crank

search on here for "thumper racing 610 kit" and on ktmtalk for thumpers version of the "450" engine that you are looking for

Thanks Bushie,
I was thinking that the 570 barrel might be what I need. Do you know if the heads/cams are the same for a 450 and a 570?
