How is the seat? Is it any more comfortable than the 01-08's or will we still need padded shorts to prevent the dreaded husabutt ?

And while we are on the subject what brand of riding shorts is everyone using? I have a pair of Fox shorts and don't think that they work all that well.

It's about the same as the others. I have a tall soft seat on my 06 that feels great. I ordered one for the 09 but it's just taller. Still feels hard, but I'm hoping it'll soften up over time. As far as the shorts, I usually wear EVS riding shorts over bicycle shorts. Takes awhile to get used to the diaper feeling but it works. For long rides or races vaseline is your best friend.

I second the EVS riding (diaper) shorts for long rides. Their great.

Shorts

The seat is typical berg. Comfortable yet functional. If it is too hard for you then stand up and ride like a man you lazy buggers !

Pearl Izumi 3d chamois. Light and functional.

I don't know what a 2008 Husaberg seat feels like, but the 2009 seat is made out of soft pine.

I'll second grass track Pete's suggestion. A slight modification on that theme is to duct-tape 5-6 bras to your ***. If you can get wonder-bra with push-up gel pads even better, light functional, homely & perversly erotic all in one... Give your riding freinds something to talk about!!

ha! ha! ha!

just to let y'all know that there is enough stretch in the set cover to addabout 1" off material and the cover shouldstill stretch. i've done this for two customers and i haven't been smacked in the marf yet! that maerial can be softand or whatever you like.

simly go to any car interior and fabric repair shop (there's one near you).

cheap, local and no shyte shooting involved with technical gobble-de-goog!

Taffy

I've been wearing the Moose Racing shorts for several years now. Nice chamois to keep your privates in good shape and no monkey butt. And removable hip and tail bone pads. Good quality.

I got a tall seat for my 2009, it feels kind of soft when you push on it with your fingers, and it feels okay at first when riding it, but later feels as hard as a rock. There shouldn't be any magazine articles complaining about feeling the seat base on this bike!

It doesn't bother me too much as I stand most of the time when I ride.

Taffy's idea sounds capital!!!

try riding standing up. it improves your ride aswell.....
