I can hardly stand it. First Husaberg NA dealer ride that I've missed since the 2003 model and you monkeys are down there in Utah pounding the 2009 machines while I sit here and quitely sob. Give us some details already!!

Ya, it's awfully quiet from the boys in Utah........... :?

they probably were sworn to secrecy. mumms the word, let us .....................wait.

not much to say except that I could compare the old bike...and every other bike on the planet, and the new bike to a one ton dually and a VW Rabbit in city driving condition. It has to be ridden to be appreciated, hard to explain, its that good.

More exciting things as well, like accessories of all sorts that we didn't have before. some already for us, some in the pipeline.

yes, and Coffin, you were missed :)

VW Rabbit???? WTF??? That's one helluva high performance car, not!

No doubt Fry! I know you're a farmer and all, but sheesh, comparing our "old" bikes with a one ton dually???? That kinda hurt my feelings.

I've never seen you so quiet. Did KTM USA slip you some valium in with your Canuck beer? Did they make you guys sign some sort of code of silence?
Are you just so excited to get back home to your cows that you've forgotten to give your Husa-bros some tidbits to chew on?

To think I was so excited to go riding tomorrow only to find out I'll be on a one ton dually.Great! :D

I did manage to contact Fry on his cell in the middle of the night last night in an effort to get some juicy details. All I could get out of him was mumbling about missing his tractor, his old dodge one ton bail wagon, and his cows. I guess that explains the unexpected VW comment. Let's hope coffee can bring him back to his senses, and he coughs up a 'real' report.

I also got to experience the 09, it's everything and more.Quick sharp handling, perfect throttle response, light weight feel to it and best of all, was the lack of engine noise and exhaust noise, it was the quietest bike of all at the event. By the way we were told they are sold out world wide. The North American bikes are built and are on there way here and thats it!I wish they would bring in a supermoto!

Lets see, the dealer network remains decimated and all the bikes have been presold (through a limited dealer network) so production was probably limited to less than a couple thousand units. What does all this mean. Will 2009 1/2 models appear with minor update/fixes as 2009 production was purposely held back to identify glitches? Will 2010 be the year full steam ahead production starts? When will the dealer flood gates open so that we can have more than a few dealers in some States?

I think that scenario is likely. It's how KTM did it when they introduced the RFS line back in 2000. 2000 models were limited production, they made a few tweaks and 2001 was the first year they were widely available.

Thanks for the report Fritz. How many 2009's are going to be imported into NA? Did they let you know how many bikes each dealer would be able to get for 2009?

Funny, I was trying to keep my comments short and sweet to avoid drivling on..look what you turned that into. So how about this. I rode the 570 and the 530 xcw 09 back to back. The difference being similar to driving a one ton dually in the city compared to the Rabbit...effortless. The KTM, like all other bikes on teh planet, feel heavy and incredibly slow turning compared to the 570. The 450 feels like a 250 2t, adn the 570 like a 250F MXer.

But you gotta ride one to believe it....honestly. The only question you guys should be asking is where i my new bike?

Street Legal???

I may have missed this in another thread but what about being street legal???

Probably most definitely not street legal from the factory.

But depending on the motor vehicle laws in your particular jurisdiction and your legal paperwork creativity anything is possible.

Dealers can order as many as they choose to.Who gets what I have no idea. The bikes are same as last year. They take the lights off and tie the wiring harness up.In colorado they are very easy to street legal. They are pure bergs, innovation, smooth, quiet, swedish! From what I see they are assembled in Austria but thats about as far as it goes!

OK, I'll bite.....where's my new bike??
How many are coming to NA and what does presold mean?

RE: Re: Street Legal???

Well , I deciced to hold on to my 05 Husadually. You know, I do seem to tractor up rocky hills. Anyway, I hope the 09 Husarabbits do well because I want to see and maybe even buy a 2010 Husaporsche. Funny how they started mixing with the Germans huh?!.
Lighten up Fry, Just kidding!

I've been told by reliable sources that 3318 bikes are beeing built. Some 2/3 are 450s. They are all sold from the factory to importers all over the world. No word about how many bikes to different countries.
