Top stuff Gazza, Lots of talent and experience in the top of the field there! hopefully we will see some of it on television or in a CD from ADB again, you guys got a good showing in 2008.

Best of luck.

Azza.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Annie Seel is a true swedish lady 8)

Take a look at her site - www.rallyprincess.com
I spoke to her a couple of weeks ago and she was really looking forward to going to Australia and the Safari :D
She is a true all rounder, if I don't remember all wrong she got a medal (perhaps even a golden one) in the european road racing championship in some class lots of years ago, we even got her to enter a couple of Supermoto races some years ago, one on a 'Berg and one on a YZF.

I hope you guys treat her the right way but don't be to nice. We want her back

nice bikes Gazza

any progress on a 610 kit from those ktmtalk guys for your 570's ?

I have a 105mm piston/linar on way should be nice and grunty at 693cc

I'm gonna look at the 610 kits late this year after the Safari is all done & dusted.

Hmmm the 700-750cc kits are tempting as well for the old motor

cant beat cubes

just for the record...

....This team will be the largest Husaberg rallye racing team ever assembled at a rallye and the first to use the new 2009 Husabergs on a multi-day international level rallye ....

I personally tested the 2009 berg in an international 6 day rallye in Spain, ( 22-29 may) wich is supposed to be the toughest rally in Europe.

never the less, this looks like a great team, so maybe you're not the first, probably you are the fastest... ;)

cool, which rallye was it ? do you have a link ?

what mods did you do to the bike ?

www.altoturiaride.net

the gallery is of last year, 2008, where you can find me with the 2004 husa. we needed a 150 km range, so an extra fuel bottle was just enough. furthermore a roadbook/IMO, mousses an that was it. for the touareq rally next year in marocco i surely need a bigger tank. http://www.tuareg-rallye.com

whilst i haven't done the alto ive looked into it and have friends who have done it and its definatly not the toughest rallye in europe.

i dont know what is, as i dont follow the rallye scene but its not alto im afraid even though it is very good and great fun, apparently.

Thanks for the great article on ADV. I have a 950SE and now I want to add a FE 570 to my garage. Great bike.

Alto Turia is a tough rally but not the toughest in Europe.
If you look for an European challenge try this for fun : http://www.redbullromaniacs.com/

Top 5 Safari finish !!!

The Husaberg Rallye Racing team had a great Safari this year with two top ten placings and 6 bikes to the finish in what is considered to be the toughest Safari rallye of the last decade.

David Schwarz put his 2008 FE650 into 5th outright and Andrew Coaker his 2009 FE570 in 7th outright................top stuff guys

Annie Seel did her usual amazing iron woman rallye ride by overcoming pain big time to place 16th outright.

eight rider team with 15 service/support crew, largest Husberg rallye team at any multiday rallye ever

#7 David Schwarz - '08 FE650
#8 Andrew Coaker - '09 FE570
#10 Brandon Keinhaus - '07 FE650
#11 Annie Seel - '09 FE570
#29 Garry Connell - '09 FE570
#41 Geoff Dean - '09 FE570
#57 Ben Green - '09 FE570
#73 Mick Heuchan -- '09 FE570

In the teams debut year in 2008 we put a Berg into the top 10 with essentially novice Safari/rallye riders.

This year thanks to great consistent rides from David & Coake the team made top 5 in what is considered to be the toughest Safari in 10 years with the most competitive field racing at a flat out sprint pace the whole event

Of note there were 10 riders capable of making the podium this year or have done it before - Grabbo, Damien G, 2 X Smiths, AJ, Rod F, Fishy, Coake, David S, Ivan & Tim could have sneaked it

If you see the final times of the top 3, they were within 16 mins of each other, they were racing it like it was Finke not a 7 day 4,000km rallye

There was then almost a 2hr gap back to the the next bunch of Ivan & David etc

Both David and Annie commented strongly on how hot the pace was compared to other rallies and Safari's they had done

Also the dnf rate at 25% was the highest this year for the last 10 years

If Dakar regs were used that dnf rate would have gone up to 45%

So yes it was a TOUGH event this year, just as it should be

In 2010 the Husaberg Rallye Racing team's gaol is very much a podium finish

Lots of photos etc here http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost ... tcount=106

that was a superb effort. well done gazza. one of the photos shows a makeshift fuel tank on a seat right? that's the guy that split his tank?

i think you need to sign one of these 'top three' up!

regards

Taffy

Congratulations on a fantastic effort. I know you only got the bikes together just during the last week. Sorry to hear about your broken collar bone so early in the event.

I would like to do the Adventure Tour one year. Reckon it would be a real hoot!!
