Hey all,

My 2008 FE 550's swingarm has a "bearing inspection window" feature ...

Any hope of salvaging this? Could an aluminum welder "fill in" some of this? JB weld? LOL ... Not keen on dropping $800 Robert Bordens on a new swingarm ...

thx,

The swing arm on my 94 FE350 was broken on top and worn on the swing arm bearing.
Cleaned up the area, filled it with weld and line bored the the holes, new bearing kit, Perfect.
I think it was not right from the factory. and was never address.

I have some pictures, But do not have a Phd. in uploading pictures on this site. what happened it was very easy there for a bit. whats a URL????? for those of us that grew up outside and not next to a desk top.

Thanks Fedge,

Since I have nothing to lose, I'll try that route. I'll also add some reinforcement - a good conversation on this here:

I host my pics on google photo, but you don't have to do that. In your reply, go to "manage attachments" - you can upload pics directly off your pc or smartphone.

I have two spare swing arms pm me your # If your interested in one

Frank

The arm can be repaired no worries, either by welding or by an insert.
Problem is its going to cost more than what you mentioned :(
