well i had another fun year. started the race again, and again had issues, but more about that later....... i got into the first corner about 8 out of 29 and was charging up to third when i followed a dust cloud of four guys 1/4 mile the wrong way :(

after getting back on track i really wanted to make up time so i was charging hard, when i came into one of the only wet corners on the track a little hot and slipped the front end out. which somehow caused all of the clutch fluid to leak out at mile 12 or 22.3 :( :( :( :(

so i rode the rest of the track without using the clutch, really hard i might add, going through the house, barn, and the 300 yard long pumpkin sized rock garden. i only killed it at the barn and check point so felt i did pretty good.

so to the clutch, behind the slave cylinder ( the one on the motor) there is a bearing that is pressed into the block and pressed into the race of that bearing is a brass lined bushing that rides on the dowel of the clutch hydraulic cylinder. well mine came loose and wore out, causing that hydraulic piston the depresses the clutch to come out of alignment and not allow it to work. so i rode 35+ miles without a clutch........ uuhhgg what a drag!!!

well we ended up in tenth place out of 29 on the open am class, and even got a plauqe out of the deal. first for us yay!

anyway here is one pic that someone took of me and my almost trusty steed(it does have 115 hours logged and this is the first real issue....)

Always good to pictures of Husabergs being used for their intended purpose. Nice Trailtech X2 light, too. I need to pick one of those up, but I need to convert my stator to pure DC first.

oh and i forgot to mention how i fixed the clutch issue. the bushing was sliding inside the race freely, so i removed it form the bike, its a split bushing. i took a razor blade and opened the gap up just enough to get a flat head screwdriver in to pry in apart further. once resprung i lubed the outside of the bushing and the inside of the race with red locktite and and reinserted the bushing. i let it sit for two hours then reassembled. it worked for three more laps or 66 miles :D

but i will need anther bushing.........see you soon rick :D

I hate to hi-jack the cool thread, but that's the first I've seen of a Husaberg X2 light. How do you like it ?

its cool, the light was awesome!!!! i had HID helmet lights and the X2 was halogen, that combo worked really well. when i was in real dusty conditions i would just lift my head and use the headlight to cut through the dust. i ran the HID"S and both lights on the X2 for two hours straight off the bike, no extra battery packs with no problem at all. i do have the trailtech stator though. but as for as the light goes i was impressed, especially for the money just under a 100 bucks!!!! c'mon you can't beat it. oh and for acomparison i was running the stock enclosure with the glass lense and a 65 w piaa bulb. this is way better.

:D Well since this thread was h-jacked I will mention that all 09 husabergs from Boss

will have the x2 fitted!! Just my way of saying thank you!
