i have transferred all my supermoto equipment from my KTM supermoto over to my 2008 FE550e except the axel-sliders. on the ktm, they have the rod that goes all the way through the axel, but on this 2008 fe550e model, there is a nut inside the axel that impedes the rod from reaching to the other side. I'm confused as to how to put an axel-slider on the bike. do the 2008 models use a different type of axel-slider? or is it only a problem with the 2008 FE model? or is it a case that they have different axel sliders all together for the 2008 models??

The nut is actually inside the axle? I'm curious to know what function that performs. If the nut is actually inside the axle, I'm just as lost as you are. However, If the nut is at the end of the axle, it's aluminum and you can drill through it. Seeing that you have a 2005 FS650E as well, it's quite possible you have already installed sliders on it and you already know what I'm talking about. Either way, I wish you good luck.

The nut you are talking about, inside the axle, is plastic, and threads in on the axle nut threads. Use a 10 mm to remove it and away you go.
