Hi lads,

Tried to search in other threads, but did not succeed. Hence sorry in advance if I missed it.

1) Did full restoration of engine head internals.
2) The block internals were untouched (they were of decent condition)
3) Compression good
4) Cleaned the carb
5) Stator refurbished (and checked)
6) All adjusted to manuals accordingly when assembled.
----------------------

1) I have honda starter on it. It spins perfectly fast
2) Fuel supply to carb is ok
3) There is good sparkle from the spark plug (when attached to bike's spark plug cap)

No sign of life even if I try spraying some little start-gas into the air intake. Also kick - start does no sign of life in the cylinder.
(The bike was starting well before the repairs)

At this point I am stuck and dunno what to search for.

Will be happy to hear some advice.

Best regards from Latvia.

i used to poor a little fuel directly into the cylinder and see if over the next 3-4 kicks, the bike didn't try to start? if it 'tried' it meant i had a carb problem. another place I'd pour fuel was into the bottom of the rubber boot.

Have a look at the tappets again.

What do you mean by ''rubber boot''? - The air intake? I kind a tried to spray start-gas fluid with no result...if I get your point.

yes, down there. starter gas was never much good for them. you should end up with a wet piston.

Sounds like fuel issue
If not starting on, starter fluid through carbie. Take spark plug out, spray starter fluid into bore. Don’t over do it, as you’ll just flood plug. Then quickly replace plug, torque correctly & try to start. If you get back fire or even a cough to want to start.
You know that you are correct there & it’s a fuel issue. So go through carbie & clean with carbie cleaner / blow out with air.
Have a coffee. Don’t over think it.
If the bike was strong runner before rebuilding, it can only be something simple that you have done wrong. Take the time to go back over, check tdc, check float level, check that carbie is clean & that air fuel is correct. Best luck, hope that helps.
