I notice that my fron't light only comes on when the motor is on. The indicator and horns work when the motor is off. Should the light work off the battery when the the motor is not running?
 
thanks, saves me looking for wires, perhaps it is so the battery cannot go flat accidentally
 
All headlight/tail light power has been A/C which is only available when the motor is running, with the sole exception of I believe the 2003 models where all lighting was D/C.

It's true that your batter will not go flat with the A/C power set up, however if you kill the motor while your riding at night the lights go out.
