2008 Australian Safari rallye

A 4 rider team competed in the 2008 Australian Safari rallye under the banner of Husaberg Rallye Racing.

The team went well with final results of:

#11 Dean Nuttall 10th outright and 2nd M2.3 class
#55 Thomas Jacobson 11th outright and 3rd M3.3 class
#29 Garry Connell 20th outright
#17 Garry Whittle DNF due to injury but running in top 15 prior to accident

All 4 bikes were essentially the same '07 or '08 FE650's.

A bunch of photos of the '08 Safari Husaberg Rallye Racing team are here

inc. the HUSABERG girls

An announcement re the 2009 Safari Husaberg team and rider support packages will be out shortly, in essence we will cater for riders of both FE650's and the new '09 FE570's. The support team will once again have the best Berg mechanics in Australia on board.

This years results once again speak hugely for the bikes, zero mechanical issues, 10th, 11th and 20th outright, as well as our 4th rider in the top 15 and climbing up the ladder until injury put him out on day 4.

oh yeah also all the 4 bikes finished with the same motor they started with as well, with no more than one valve clearance check :D damn sure the other brands cannot state that !!!!!

Only word of caution is that if any one is planning or even looking at using the new '09 bike they need to let us know NOW as there are not very many left from the '09 Australian allocation that are not already pre-sold especially the 570 as most being produced are the 450 version.

Well done guys.
I wonder whether GHR Honda were replacing engines all the time like last year on Grabbos bike :)

Gazza,

You should check the possibility of Husaberg's hiring and race support for 2009 Australian Safari, I would like to go race in Australia.

Regards,

Vicente
