2007 FE 550 Oil leak

I bought a "new" 2007 fe 550. At the purchase there was some oil on the case below the oil filter cover, didn't think much of it until I rode it and oil was spewing out. Husaberg apparently claims that the oil filter cover screws needed teflon, but that didn't work. Now the dealer is replacing the case gasket; anybody else had this issue? Cheers.

The oil filter cover has 2 orings on it. Pull the cover off and see what they are like. I bet they are buggered or missing......

Had this problem turned out to be rocker cover breather hose has a slight split near clamp and the air flow around that area makes oil pool/run to oil filter area.

To add to this another time i found the join of the crankcases just above oil filter housing had a pin hole where the sealant had blown out. I just put a dob of silicone on it (lasted a long time no leak)and that stopped it until i rebuilt the motor.

Thanks for the replys; we're going to try the breather hose and see if that's the issue. We've checked the o rings on the oil filter cap; but they're going to replace that as well because it might be slightly warped. And the dealer already replaced the case gasket. I think we are definately narrowing down the possibilities.

Cheers

Looks like it was a faulty oil filter cap!!! A lotta work for a little cure! Anyways, happy that I can ride it again this weekend!
