2006 Tail light Assm Part Number

Hi friend.The rear licence plate holder is 80008015200,the rear light lens is 50314041200,thelamp holder is 54811076050,and the screws are 0017060203.

Is it really LED?

no its only a lght with short fender

You can buy an LED tail light that will bolt right up to the '06 fender... I re-fitted my '03 with the '06 tail and lamp then bought this -

I love your approach! What you've done won't work exactly for me because I need a different license placement (and a bit of space for a Texas state inspection sticker,) but you've given me an idea on how to do a minimalist approach. I do hate that huge '05 fender appendage...and I think I can do better than the '06 alternative.

Now I need a bit of time. Git 'er done.

Is it no legal to make a smaller custom plate ?

No, our plates are issued by the state...period. They are smaller than what you have mounted though.

The challenges associated with mounting a plate on the inner fender are as follows: 1) On an enduro bike, as opposed to your SM, I expect the inner fender to be covered in dirt and mud quite a bit, and my local gendarme may think I'm hiding something, 2) my state (Texas) requires a white light shining on the plate, and 3) the inspection sticker and the plate together would make a clean mount difficult.

However, your tail light set up has me thinking about a custom license plate mount, with a small led illumination. I suck as a fabricator, but I think even I can improve on the '05 rear fender, especially using your rear lights as a springboard. Thanks again...and nice job on the whole bike!
