Go down to the local bookstore or grab your copy from the mailbox and flip right to page 105 of the April 06 edition of Dirt Rider.

A reserved, yet gushing article on the 650. By Kramer and Lewis to boot.
It's almost as if they lose themselves and have to regain composure while they write the article. (We like it, and it's NOT a Honda, we're confused...)

The boys can't get over the power (or the pricetag).

From the article...
What's Hot:
"Pretty light, super powerful, and we'll bet both sensations feel better than they read on a scale or a dyno."

What's Not:
Vibration, Fuel tank size, the Durability Boogey-Man and it looks like a yellow and blue KTM.

Otherwise, an unusually glowing endorsement of a non-japanese bike from DR.

Big things a comin' Husabergs way this summer, I think.

Vibration... hmm, I've been riding/racing an XR 650R on and off for years. I think they feel about the same. Welcome to big bore off-road bikes. Fuel tank... HA!

They are a more open-minded bunch than the other publications, but we're working on it :)

Also, the inside skinny is that we made the final cut (from fifteen down to seven) in the 24 Hour Torture Test. That's a big deal.

Cheers,

Brett

Jimmy Lewis is about the ONLY dirt rag opinionhead that I give any credibility to.
He tells it like it is in most instances and has gone out of his way, numerous times to say he rates based on what he rides, not who advertises in the magazine.

Refreshing at least.

we made the cut from 15 to 7............That is Fantastic great news!! Congrats to our 24DR team.

I really like that too. Especially since there is an identical bike in my garage. I just got the new issue of Dirt Rider yesterday and I think I should frame the article and hang it up. I noticed the weight ready to run with no gas was 253lbs. the same as my 01. Elsewhere inthe issue there is a 250 enduro shootout. The honda crfx 250 weighs 250, the wrf 250 is 252lbs. the husky is 261lbs. My point is the Husaberg 650 weighs the same as the competitions 250s!!! AND it has way more power. That just sounds like fun. The vibration they speak of isnt any worse than other bikes I have ridden but I sure wish Clarke Mfg. or someone would nut up and produce a Husaberg large capacity fuel tank. Anyway thanks to DR for including Husabergs.

Thanks for the link fmoffroad.I ran down to the local news stand only to find the march issue.I guess mail travels slower the farther north it gets. You'd almost think my local bike shop would carry free issues :D

Vibration  what do they want a Goldwing?? That is easy cured. The light weight I like. Fuel tank size I agree but there are no after market over sized tanks thats the bad part.

I've been missing my berg since it left the house. at the time it made sense due to the fact that I was working as the service manager at the local Husky dealership. (Hard to sing the praises of what you are selling if you ain't riding it)

Anyway, after 6 months we came to an agreement that we weren't good for each other and I left the dealership  (or something like that)

from the moment I left I've been thinking about bringing another berg home and that article in DR has pushed me one step closer to the edge.

anyone want a deal on a 05 SMR510 or a TC250? :p
