was desert riding 3 weeks ago, went down a bad ravine, had to slide my bike down a rock face, ripped open my left side lower radiator hose, did not know it, Just by chance It was the end of my day and I was near camp, so as I rode back about 2-3 miles to camp on mostly flat ground the bike ran dry of coolant for probably a mile or more unknowned to me, got to camp and I thought my valves were loose, bike making no power and a bunch of top end noise. I shut it off and since I was staying the night for a day 2 ride I was plnaning on looking at valve tappets, but soon I saw the ripped hose I realized what had happend. So I ran into town to a KTM/berg dealer in Reno, got coolant and oil. Surprized the oil came out looking good not burnt at all, but I changed it anyways, Refilled the coolant, bled the air and bingo the bike started easy! WOW
The next day it ran great. Just checked the valve tappets today and they seemed perfect, but I did the 1/6 turn adjust just to be sure.
1900 miles, 125 hours now on my bike, I dont ride as much as I used to. The Bike is bullet proof.
