I have the opportunity to pick up a brand new 2006 FE550E for a really good price, I currently own a 2002 FE501E which with the exception of two SEM failures has been a good bike, so I am used to the Husaberg maintenance drill.
Here lies the dilemma: I am one of those guys who intends on buying a 2009 Husaberg, probably not the first wave, which means 18 months from now. My 2002 is getting a little long in the tooth, I've replaced rockers/shafts once (didn't really need them) but other than that it hasn't required any engine work..... yet. So my gut is telling me I can pick up this 2006 FE550E, sell my 2002 FE501E and only spend a little more than I'm going to need to dump into the 2002 to keep it going another 18 months. This plan of course would fail if 2006 FE550Es where problematic.
Opinions?
