2006 fe450e Bog, sputter, jerky at low speed

Hi guys,

I just picked up my first Berg, and love the bike. Its not runing at all good, because last owner (my brother from anotha motha) dropped it hard and drove the exhaust up into the bike.... and I think it was just neglected for years left to fade in the sun and exposed to weather. She starts almost first kick (well about three with my left leg getting used to it;) And she idles fine, and pulls great above 1/2 throttle to full throttle. But....

Issue: She has a terrible bog that kills the engine trying to pull away unless you rev her hard and ride the clutch. At low constant throttle, she bucks, jerks, pops, sputters all over the place as if I was revving the throttle erratically. The issues noted below are all significant contributors, but I thought best to identify all I have seen.

The damages I have discovered initially after pulling the carb Keihin fcr mx 39:
  • breather hose at top of motor is cracked and weeping a fine trace of oil
  • TPS is cut off on black wire and yellow and white are exposed
  • carb vent hoses, two of them were melted partially and have reduced ID but not sealed off completely
  • internal carb is pretty clean, no deposits
  • all four jets are tarnished and numbers are hard to read. They are not blocked but look like old pennies, rough in texture and dark in color.
  • needle seems ok, no wear visible
  • Pilot jet is clear but looks to have possible minute debris behind one of the side holes
  • Needle Jet and basically all jets do not look perfectly symmetrical at ends, as if just worn out.
  • Accelerator diaphragm seems ok, no tears or holes I can see.
  • Exhaust - the two Exhaust collectors off the block do not match perfectly in angle to enter completely into the exhaust intermediate female openings, a bit of a gap and smoke puffs out when throttle cracked.
  • air filter was pretty dirty
  • the carb connecting boot was full of oil after I removed the nasty air filter above it

I have made an order with local dealer that carries Husaberg parts, and am not sure if I am wasting money unnecessarily (see attached list).

This is a stretch to ask as she's rough all over, but what items will I need to get the bike running for the summer trails short term. I plan a full tear down next winter but want to run it now as she's already spoiled my desire to ride my DRZ....

Thanks,
Wildbill
