2005 Dakar coverage on OLN

How many of you are becoming increasingly disappointed with the Speed channels programming?

I was reading through the latest issue of Dirt Rider and saw an ad for the 2005 Dakar coverage on OLN (outdoor life network). It will run 1-22 through 1-26. Then last night while watching the supermoto event from Nashville on OLN, I saw an add saying the same.

I'm running the poll about the speed channel's programming b/c I'm really getting tired of all the sport tuning shows, auto rotica, and excessive NASCAR, and other left turn only shows. I've already sent speed a letter voicing my discontent with their dropping of the Dakar coverage. So I thought I run a poll here and then send the results to speed.

I too have complained,speed channel has dropped much of the programming that is of interest to me....nsman
 
It's a shame

They did a fantastic job of the Dakar last year. I can't believe they are totally backing out of this. :evil:

Might as well toss the remote since the 5 channels, out of the 200+, I used to watch are showing crap as well.
I agree with you DaleEO. There are way way too many sport tune channels. I do like Overhaulin' though..
They better not drop FIA World Rally..

Gentlemen you have hit on a very sore point for me :x . I to was sending mail to speed asking where there usually great coverage of Dakar was going to be. I finally got a reply that read "OLN will cover Dakar from 22-26 of Jan.". That was it, no explanation, no sorry were just going to over cover a spec class called NASCAR, nothing. All I got was your not important, go away. I will stop now because I can go on and on about this.

It must be getting to be a sore point with them since they actually sent you a reply with substance. All I got was the generic "thanks for writing, we can't answer all emails blah, blah, blah".

I'm glad to see someone else call NASCAR what it is, an over covered spec series. Maybe OLN can get WRC, F-1, World Speedway, and Moto GP, then I won't have a need for the speed channel.
 
I agree Speeds coverage last year was excellent, this year, nonexistant. I've looked for SC e-mail address and could not find it anywhere, how about posting it so we could all e-mail them with our displeasure? This site would be an excellent spot. Also, ESPN-2 and OLN would be appreciated.
 
Well Huskylives it wasn't an e-mail I wrote. It was just the feedback thing on there website. I was writing in there for about 6 or 7 days getting the usual response. Then it looks like I'm the blessed one and got that half assed answer. Wish I did have an e-mail for all of you guys to abuse, but I don't.
 
I sure miss Euro-Sports coverage. Imagine a daily hour long show. With coverage of the actual calendar day your living, not the daily coverage a month late we try to be happy with here in the states. Hey Taffy, How's the coverage?

I'm living in Holland and every night i can choose for live coverage ( eurosport) and afterwards "dakar insight" from RTL 5
For that no complains, Otherwise the Dakar this year seems to be a dramatic rally

Speed Channel contact/feedback

Hi, all...
Speed Channel is a SpeedTV operation here in U.S., can be "fed-back" here http://www.speedtv.com/feedback/. Not sure if it will do much good as in many cases it is the local cable company that selects what is going to be aired.
