Hi all!!

So i am brand new to the world of husaberg having just brought a 04 fe450.
I am now planing a ground up rebuild as want to powder coat the frame original colours of course!!
So here is my question just how much of my berg is ktm for parts and what is actual husaberg??

Also did they make a after market silencer for this year or do i just powder coat the old one ??

Cheers Karl:cool:

welcome!

yes there are tailpipes for SM and they are generally way too loud. I have been getting my frames done locally at Haverhill and they have done a beautiful job. Doma, Rhino and Akro.

if you have the whole frame and sidestand done you don't have to worry about the shade of light blue, its done! and there's repeat-ability in using the British code sheets. forgotten their name for a second)

Just bought two Husabergs a fortnight ago from Rochester, what a small world! guy with a VW Rabbit pick up. him and his missus - him 'n hers!

Hi Taffy

I have stumbled across your shop before joining the forum and I'll definitely be placing a order as needs new discs front and rear, gear selector, and few other bits I may find when I bare frame it.

Well I rode it today and holy Christ it's different to any other dirt bike I've rode!

Is there any common issues faults I need to look for ?

yeh everything LOL!!!!!

look its no spring chicken so be-ware!

they are pretty good actually!
the only mods we do are to fit DVSK (softer valve springs)
a stronger auto decomp spring to let it spin up on the starter.
a starter repair kit to stop the starter slipping.
we think a jetting kit smooths the power
we lower the compression if we ever strip them. if you want to race a 450 you wouldn't buy one of these nowadays as they are no longer cutting edge - just a good trail bike.

I seem to do things nobody else does
like floating caliper sliding kits
weird ****
they handle well, handle better with 20mm TCs.
front forks are bloody stiff, just ACW all the screws and work from open back in - unless you're big FF and then perhaps not!

the achilles heel is the mains. they need roller bearings and 0.5mm float axially. there's someone in the UK always poutting balls in and a 'bullring' outside the crank in the left cover and pulls the crank through when tightening the primary gear. wrecks the mains in about 10 hours sometimes. look on the magnet for silver steel....

good luck

Taffy
