2003 FE400E any issues??

Hi guys I'm new to the world of Husabergs. I have a chance to buy a lightly used 03 400fe, really good shape, it runs and goes down the trail fine onlyon the 2nd rear tire, original owner. The power seemed very similar to my 01KTM 400RFS. I can see no issues, but I would like to hear the good and the bad about this bike as far a reliability issues or problems. I am not new to bikes I own a KTM, have had all the jap bikes in the past and a couple of Husky's. Are parts still available?, major things like cylinders, piston, gears...You never know, I don't beat up my bikes but things happen and I don't want to be stuck with a bike and no parts.

I had an '03 FE400 and really liked it. I had to add a jet to the carb to get it to start right; sits under the pilot jet. Other than that I always really liked the bike....

Your bike is great, but there are issues, if there were no issues do you think this forum would be so active ?? :mrgreen:

Stay arround and you will solve your "issues" as they come :lol:

But to have found a very low hours bike its great, to start keep an eye on your stator and clean it and spray it every time you ride or wash your bike.

If the ignition craps out, are there spares in the usa or is there a retrofit that is less prone to failure?

Ignition rewind by UHE member "sparks" will be better than new.

all parts are still available. however they did have a few issues. many of which MUST have happened to the bike by now and be through the system. however, at that age nobody can vouch for it can they?

What kind of issues are you referring to? The bike has very low hours and the previous owner was not mechanical, he did not know how to work on bikes so I doubt he did anything to the bike.
