2003 FE 400 stator failed?

Hi could anyone tell me what ohm readings I should be getting please
I think stator is poo poo it won’t start and I have a poor intermittent spark
I’m getting readings of 145 green to black and 1228 red to black!

Hello
green to black 165 ohms
red to black 2,700 ohms

Is this an electrex unit?

Not sure there are two sets of windings back set are visible and front set have less which are covered in wax! Only markings I can see is a number 4 with a dot next to it both painted yellow with a green dot approximately 100 degrees later?
 
not sure what you have. a photo would be good but kaputt ist kaputt.

Cheers thought so! going to get a rewind my local ish specialists have a really good reputation and will cost less than half the price of a replacement!
 
Ok it turns out I have an electrex unit and the rewinding company says it cannot be rewound! Is this correct? All other options seem to be £200 quid ouch
Also are the stator readings the same for different types?
 
there is only SEM and electrex as I'm aware. the readings for green to black are the same at 165-170 ohms but the red to green is FOUND to be 2,750 on the SEM and 3,000 on the Electrex.

hi the only good solution for you is to buy a used stator that is never rewound, the important thing is to seal the lid well because they don't like moisture ,the electrex stator is of poor quality, scrolling is before the last option
 
its a bit mean to call the electrex stator 'poor quality'. I'm on my original from 6 years ago.

if they are dry they are good.

Just tried a second hand one off eBay but the readings
Were worse than mine so that got sent straight back
 
Ok so now I’m confused I’ve been looking at stator coils and there are some for sale in America and Germany called RMstators and the ohms resistance readings
They quote for those are 179 +\-20% and 1300 +\-20% they look identical to the electrex one which I assumed I have?? If these readings are correct then mine should be in tolerance and work surely? Anyone had one of these RMstators?
