2002 timing chain and tensioner upgrade.

Searched this forum and the timing chain and tensioner upgrade is recommended by a lot of people.

Am I correct that the timing chain needs to be 'upgraded' with an older model chain? If so wich year chain do I need?

What exactly is meant by the tensioner upgrade? What parts need to be changed out and of what model year are the new parts?

Sorry to keep bothering you guys with my novice questions! Christof.

most of the details are in the owners doc. they put in a fatter tensioner blade in '04 and in '06 they started using D.I.D chain. with the old tensioner button you just pull the alloy knob off the end and now it is the correct length to sit behind the new fatter blade, and push it!!!!

most dealers will understand without you explaining ok!

'04 plus; camchain tensioner
'06 D.I.D camchain
pull the alloy knob off.

caution;
you should buy if it doesn't have; the steel camwheel.
your cam follower bearings should also be changed
