2002 spare engine for a 2003 650?

Hi guys

Ive been having some problems with my bike. The cylinder needs repair, new piston etc...Anyway it so happens that I came across a 2002 650 being sold very near to my location at a very reasonable price. The bike has ignition probs, but only has 1500 kilometers on it. It looks absolutely gorgeous and has supermoto wheels on it. My question is are the parts interchangable? What about the wheels? Should I consider buying it? Also Im only keeping the engine, if ill buy it so rest will be for sale if anyone is interested...

well I can't understand you breaking a bike that I think is going to shoot up in value pretty soon. mind you if you do break it then the price of everyone else's bike will defo shoot up!

the front wheel wheel is NOT interchangeable but the rear is. everything else is the same except the speedo.

but most of all that 'ignition fault' could be hiding a 'rat-****'. I saw a Husaberg SidecarX'er for sale about three Months ago here in the UK. the engine was that phuqed that the flywheel had grabbed the stator and ripped it off the wall of the cover. there must have been 2mm of play in the crank.

he bought a 'new' stator and a used flywheel off me. then thought about it and later sold the ignition parts first and then a week later sold the outfit as HAVING AN IGNITION PROBLEM ONLY.

yeh right, so "players" in Russian Roulette only ever withdraw with a headache.....!

I will only buy it if I put my own ignition on it and have a ride with it and all is fine so I don't end up surprised.
The rims aren't original as far as I can tell. They are black Excel rims with Pirelli tires. The rear shock absorber isnt original either, it's some kind of aftermarket but looks expensive, can't remember the name though.

So I bought the 2002 model ,it was kind of hard to start because it was sitting for 3 years, but now it starts up easily.
Only issue and I have been reading up on this on the forum is that it is making whining noise. As I understand this is normal for 2002 models?
