2002 Husaberg FE 400

Hi all,
I'm new here, this looks like a great place.

I'm looking at a 2002 Husaberg FE 400 that looks to be in great shape, street legal and very low miles / hours.
I have heard about the possible issues this year bike can have...Cam chain, Cam bearings. Del’orto Carb & SEM ignition.
I also have heard that the engine issues cam be cured with up-dated parts and then the bikes of this era are great. I'm wondering what the parts might cost and how long might these parts be available ?
I expect I can do the work myself.

The things that you are mentioning aren't all big issues, yes some can be updated, but you just update them if they need replacement.

The dellorto its not a issue, its not the most modern but it works. The SEM its the most difficult thing to update and it will give you some problems.

This bikes are great but you have to keep a eye on them and treat them well

Thanks Zaga. Yea that makes sense. What would I be able to do with the ignition if it gave me trouble or went out on me ?

I like the bike.
 
Hi

If you have troubles with the ignition 99% of the times it will be the stator. The easy thing to do it will be to rewind it, it will be better then the new.

yes I or sparks can deal with the stator if it is.

as for all the gimmicks - I have most of them so get in touch.
