I know this might sound like a stupid qwestion but the plug is sparking off a head bolt but wount spark off the cast alloy head is this normal ?
Me and boss haven a discussion about it any help please

Not sure what u mean ?

It's got a lovely bright blue spark when against the head bolt but soon as u touch cast there's nothing ????

Hi

That is a bit strange but basically your head doesn't have a good earth for some reason ?? (some paint, oil, the head gasket doesn't help, etc ??).

The head bolts they transmit a lot better electricity then the aluminium and they are somehow isolated from the head ??

Since you need the earth to make the spark, that situation can will give you problems to run the bike.

To avoid this kind of problems some times I use this wire like in the pict, check it:

Anyway your problem is not a usual one

Put earth wire on sparking nice, but the engine has just locked solid now took plug out and the piston has hit the plug shattering the eletrod and end of plug so thinking the big end bearing gone now ? So any ideas on cost for rebuild and parts and were to get parts or would it be Easyer trying to get a new engine? I live in northeast England ?

Not good news

The cost will depend in what you will find inside :?: Also if you are going to do it, or someone else.

The person that can help you it's Taffy, with new or used parts and also rebuild engines. (From my experience)

Cheers! Yea I've spoke to him b4 the bike seized ! He's the guy that told is to drag it behind a car to try n bumb start it :wink:

Yea thanks goin ring both to day need cylinder head an nee piston and rings , big end bearing , new valve , what Eva else crops up while I'm striping it only took head off at min
