I am looking to buy a used 470. This bike does not have a light on it now but was wondering what it would take? Does this bike already have the stator or would this be a big change. I would like to title it but don't want to spend another grand for lights. I allready know about the possible bering problems but this bike is money. He want's 3800, is that a fair deal for a berg with 300 miles? Any help would be appreciated to a possible husaberg owner.

I realize that many who own 2002's would like to sell them for what they are worth. but the simple fact is that really good ones can be had for sub $3000 I would not pay more than 3k unless it had all the updates and was in really good shape- not because they are not good bikes but because if you keep your eyes open you will find them. When I was looking for an 01-02 last year i ran into many bikes that were 2-3k and all were in excellent shape- i finalyl picked an 02 FC470E in excellent shape for 2,300 and had it shipped to me for a few hundred.

Fx 470e's are prewired for lights. I don't think you could get an Fx without e-start. You could purchase a new factory lighting kit, like the one listed here, or use aftermarket lights. The stator is equiped with a lighting coil.

Risky's valuation information seems inline with market conditions. It probably won't e-start all that well and that in my opinion is what keeps valuations low. Conversely the 470 motor is a near perfect blend of minimal gyroscopic effect (lightweight feel) and big bore torque. As you may have guessed I am a big fan of the 470 and would never sell my 01. The 470 kick starts fairly easy so if you never get the e-starter working to perfection it is of no real consequence.

I would try to negociate the price a bit and take it home :)

02 FX470E,s can be a hand full, if you’re not a seasoned mechanic or at least very handy with the wrench's. You should be able to pick up a good up graded FX470E for about $2500 and if you look hard you could do much better. As for the lights my FX has been converted to a FE lighting system by my deal "see link below" Andy will talk care of you and do it for a great price. I think he had to add a lighting wiring harness, regulator, head light assembly, re-fender extension and tail light. To get a brake light you will need a front brake hand switch and a rear brake hydraulic brake light switch. Andy can send you the whole package with instructions. "Wiring diagram" I can't remember the price but it wasn’t more than $275?
