hi all,
where the clutch rod hits on both ends, one at the hyd. cylinder and the other in the clutch assembly, are there ballbearings or something like that?
what i am asking is does the rod hit directly on both ends?
i thought there was a little puck on the clutch assembly side but the parts manual shows no part.
thanks the help.

nothing that year tuts, just goes into the end cap of the clutch and against the piston at the other. the next year i believe they put a little radial needle roller in but that's a whole new clutch assembly.

thanks taffy!
just wanted to make sure.
also, when the clutch cylinder is off, and the bearing in the case is exposed, how easy should this spin? what's on the other side?
i ask because mine spins but there is a drag.
cheers

that bearing should have the mainshaft in it, no? the rod goes in the mainshaft.

it won't spin freely tuts if the clutch is on it. without it, well yes i'd say 'like stirring a stick in oil'. i hope i got that right!!!

lay the clutch pack on the bench and see if any f the discs are raised within the pack. that will mean you ried a 'steel', usually they are in the middle area. check the thickness of the pack. 20.6mm is new and 19.6mm is shagged.
