I was looking in the manual and Husaberg has the FC550 listed as a motocross bike which usually only get run approx 40 minutes at a time, I like to trail ride for hours with groups of people. of course we stop from time to time for water. Will it hurt to run this bike for long periods of time? or is it specifically intended for racing?

The only thing it will hurt is your butt - thanks to a very hard seat! The motor on the FC models is the same as the FE models except for no electric start and different transmission ratios.

cool, thanks man! and I figured that much out I have an aftermarket husaberg seat but its still very hard, and I figured out the hurtin part saturday! lol I appreciate it!

750 km last Saturday on my 2001 fe650 bike ran great. No problems to note when I dumped the oil on Monday. My butt was still numb on Monday as well.

I bought the low seat and it's even harder. Wearing padded shorts like are available from Troy Lee Designs seems to help.

I do 5+ hour rides on my 05' FS650. Paved, dirt roads, trails whatev. I just change the oil before I go. 350 hours on the engine.

For the other, a Gutz tall soft seat works well. I may switch to a tall medium though. I have bar risers so standing as often as possible helps.

I always wear padded bicycling shorts under my riding pants, even on my road bike. That makes 12hr days on the motorcycle much more comfortable.

good suggestions, I didnt think about padded shorts, standing up on this one isnt that bad so long as your not hauling @$$, then its hard to hang on to it sitting down! lol well on rough terrain anyways. does anyone have any suggestions for aftermarket accessories for the bergs? I would like to look around, I have aftermarket bars, brembco brakes, etc... but all of that was on the bike when I bought it. What is the stock jetting? I cleaned my carb the other day, I didnt pay too close attention, but I think there was a 200 and a 33 in there... just curious... I should really look that up in my manual and post under the fuel section haha I love the bike so far tho!
