2002 650 electrical issue.(stator)

Do you use any wd40 or other stuff prior?

You then just leave it or remove and dry periodically

Hi

Your best solution, besides the gasket, is to spray some insulator on the stator, so it's rust free.

This will stop all your troubles and wd40 and stuff.

I used to open and clean the stator after each ride, etc ... and after this just forgot about the stator ;)

Here are some pict

That looks ideal. I take it there are no issues preventing the stator doing its job? It will still generate as it should

Hi

No problems, the things between stator and flywheel are magnetic ;)

This the best way to prevent rust, I've done a lot of things and this is the solution.
Also don't advise the wd40 and similar products, specially with the stators that have been rewind.
I used to put this every time I rode the bike, but this will infiltrate the stator and will make the new coating crack.

That's my experience

I've ordered some 3m 1601 insulating spray. Should work nicely.

Hi

I've done a quick search and it's not quite that

You need a coil enamel spray (sorry about my English) :(

Something like this

Ah right, don't think it's the same product but I thought it would do the job pretty well.
