Hiya!
Sorry in advance, I know this is going to be a long post, but I'm just trying to get all the info in here
I kinda recently bought myself a Husa FS650e with some problems on it, that I thought I'd fix. I've just got it back together again, and now it won't start. When I first got it the battery was dead, and the guy I bought it off could not kick it. I didn't have any boots or experience with such a big kicked bike before, so I didn't even try. We tried cabling the bike, but the electrical starter didn't manage to spin the engine. Now, I know the original starter motors on these bikes are crap, but this one has got the starter engine from a Yamaha R6. I have no idea if the R6 engine should be able to manage the Berg, I don't really know the difference in 'toughness' of starting the 650 single-cylinder vs a 600cc straight four.
Anyway, the bike would start just fine if you pulled it behind a car, rolled it downhill or something similar. The engine ran as it should, but about halfway up through the revs it started blurring and didn't wanna rev any more.
Got the bike home and tore it down. Brand new battery, new spart plug (the old one was black), ultrasonic cleaning and new jets for the carb (Taffy's Spruce Up Kit), changed the oil + filter, new airfilter, a good clean and a few other non-relevant stuff was fixed.
Got the bike together and was going to try to start it for the first time again today.
So, ignition switch in high setting, apply choke, open the fuel taps, all by the book.
The electrical starter worked much better now, but it still seemed like it was a bit too heavy to push the engine around. The motor would go one stroke and then halt and really push itself to get the cylinder through TDC again and so forth. I tried to kick, and kick + run the starter simultaneously, but it was a no go. Not even a cough. Checked the plug, it was dry but had spark. So I put a sip of fuel down the spark plug hole into the cylinder, replaced the plug and tried again. Still a no-go. In addition, the starter motor suddenly started to sound like the gears were broken, it spun wildly and occasionally got a grip of the crank, so to speak.
Gave up for tonight and thought I'd make a post here and ask if any of you have any ideas. Gonna check the starter engine gears and see what's up there, and when I get someone to help me I'm going to try to tow the bike and see if I can get it running that way... :|
