I finally got all my parts back from various places for my 2000 FC 501.
I don't have a piston ring install tool. So I tried the following being very careful, but gave up right away before I had done any damage.
Maybe I could have done it the opposite way, but that's not what I did.
So I installed the piston in the engine and then tried to thread the barrel over it. I then made a "cheesy" plastic bottle compression tool, but was not successful in holding the rings together well enough.
I realized later that I could have put the piston inside the barrel and then installed piston and barrel onto the piston rod.
What is the best tool to buy? And can someone give me some good advise of how to do it the best way
I appreciate any guidance,
Hakan
